Before you begin
Quit PowerTrackpad and turn off Launch at Login
- Right-click the PowerTrackpad menu-bar icon and turn off Launch at Login.
- Right-click the menu-bar icon again and choose Quit.
- If you may want your rules later, keep a normal backup of your Mac before deleting local data.
If macOS says Launch at Login requires approval, open System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions and turn off PowerTrackpad there.

Remove only the app
- Open the Applications folder where you installed PowerTrackpad.
- Move PowerTrackpad to the Trash.
- Empty the Trash whenever you are ready.
Your saved rules, preferences, local Trial evidence, installation identity, and cached Pro entitlement remain in your macOS user account unless you erase them separately.
App-only uninstall
What stays on the Mac
Your gesture rules and PowerTrackpad preferences remain available to the same macOS user.
The local Trial dates remain. Reinstalling does not restart or extend the Trial.
The local entitlement and its Keychain identity normally remain, allowing the same user to retain Pro offline after reinstall.
The licensing service still retains purchased-license and activation records under the Privacy Policy. Removing files from your Mac does not delete those service records or release an activation.
Permanent local cleanup
Erase PowerTrackpad's local data
If you later reinstall and enter the same license key, PowerTrackpad treats the new identity as another cumulative lifetime activation. Used activations cannot be released, restored, or replenished.
After quitting and removing the app, use Finder's Go → Go to Folder… command to review and delete these items only if you want to erase the local setup:
~/Library/Preferences/com.weeloo.powertrackpad.plist— saved rules and preferences;~/Library/Application Support/PowerTrackpad— the local Trial file and cached Pro entitlement.
Then open Keychain Access, search for PowerTrackpad, and review the matching PowerTrackpad Installation Identity and PowerTrackpad Local Trial items before deleting them. Do not delete unrelated keys or passwords. Removing both Trial records does not create a right to another Trial.
Optional macOS cleanup
Remove Accessibility and login access
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. If PowerTrackpad remains listed, select it and use the remove control. Also confirm PowerTrackpad is absent or disabled under General → Login Items (called Login Items & Extensions on some macOS versions).
These macOS settings are separate from your rules and license records. Removing them does not release or replenish a Pro activation.
Returning later
If you reinstall PowerTrackpad
The same macOS user should see the retained rules and Pro access without another activation.
Re-enter the original license key. The same identity reuses its stored activation.
Entering the key creates a new identity and consumes another activation if the cumulative allowance has not been exhausted.
See offline use and reinstall behavior for more detail.
