Let PowerTrackpad check automatically
When PowerTrackpad asks whether it should check for updates automatically, choose Check Automatically to hear about fixes and compatibility improvements.
If you prefer to check yourself, decline the prompt. You can change this later under Settings → Software Updates.
Whenever you choose
Check for an update manually
Connect to the internet, then use either of these options:
- open Settings → Software Updates and select Check Now…; or
- choose Check for Updates… from the PowerTrackpad app or menu-bar menu.
PowerTrackpad will tell you whether an update is available.
When an update is available
Review and install the update
- Review the version information shown in the update window.
- Choose Install Update when you are ready.
- Allow PowerTrackpad to close and reopen if requested.
You can postpone an update and continue using your current version, then check again later.
Your setup
What stays in place
Updates are designed to preserve your gesture rules, settings, and Pro access. Accessibility permission and Launch at Login should also remain in place.
If macOS asks for permission again, follow the on-screen prompt and then try a gesture.
Troubleshooting
If an update does not complete
Check your internet connection and try Check Now… again later.
Your installed copy should remain available. Reopen PowerTrackpad and retry when convenient.
